IPSA INSTITUTE for the contracting authority Saudi Fund for Development in coordination with the University – Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST), implemented the development of the service “Preliminary and Main Design for the construction of the Scientific Research Institute King Salman bin Abdulaziz within the Campus of the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology”. The above-mentioned services were provided in the period from 2019 to 2021. The investment value was €10.5 million.

Project characteristics:
The designed facility is planned as part of the campus of the University of SSST located in the municipality of Ilidža.

The scope of construction is defined by the Terms of Reference and treats a plot of approximately 9,000 m².

The area of project documentation includes a free-standing building with the final dimensions of the external facade (approx. 31x107m). The total usable area of the building is 11,560 m², distributed over six floors.

The designed building consists of several functional units arranged horizontally and vertically:

• Access plateau (esplanade) with a central hall for presentations and administrative offices in galleries;
• Congress center that includes an amphitheater and lecture halls;
• Scientific research center that includes examination rooms, laboratories and accommodation units in the function of a day hospital;
• Garage (two separate garage units) with accompanying technical rooms;
• Recreational space on the roof surface.
