Track Overhaul from km 331+115 to km 340+991 on section Trebaljevo-Kolašin, Montenegro
In the period from 2009 to 2010 the IPSA INSTITUTE’S expert team had the opportunity to provide its design services to the contracting authority ŽICG AD in the Republic of Macedonia. As part of this project, a major repair was carried out of the railway from km 331+115 to km 340+991 on the section Trebaljevo-Kolašin, Montenegro. The investment value of the project was about 10 million euros.
Project characteristics:
The project documentation was created in order to plan and perform the works and bring the track, which was put into operation in 1976., to its original state or to upgrade its horizontal and vertical alignment, design speed and axial load on the entire section, as well as to improve traveling comfort and safety. The design included regulation of the entire track and bridge superstructures, as well as improvements to the overhead contact line, the signal interlocking system on the track and the telecommunication devices and equipment. In order for the Terms of Reference to be implemented, it was required to develop soil-mechanical testing reports and surveying maps. The subject track section is just shy of 10 km with numerous bridges and tunnels. It was envisaged to replace the ballast , install new S-49 rails, replace rail fittings and weld the track into CWR. The Bills of Quantities were compromised in the design. Apart from works at sections between stations, it was also envisaged to execute works at Stations Trebaljevo and Kolašin.
